MMI INTERMEDIATE LEVEL 2 - CARBINE RIFLE SHOOTING FUNDAMENTALS COURSE LOCATION: MMI TACTICAL SHOOTING RANGE - WEST ODESSA, TX DURATION: 8 HOURS This Level 2 carbine rifle training course builds upon the knowledge learned from the Level 1 course & introduces a more challenging style of shooting techniques while under stress. Participants will gain vital knowledge on the carbine platform & ammunition selection for selected applications, as well as the weapons capabilities & limitations. Students will be challenged with techniques that will create a reliable & systematic foundation in shooting fundamentals preparing them for the Condition 1 Combatives Training Course. This course will focus on delivering the tactics, techniques and procedures needed to shoot, move and communicate in the urban landscape. Students will receive training in how to select, occupy, and use cover tactically while engaging targets from various firing positions. Students will be trained how to engage threats using both sides of the body, how to identify and clear stoppages quickly and efficiently and conduct fire and maneuver drills to safely close distance with the threat. These drills will allow students to employ critical thinking and develop higher levels of situational awareness during a realistic urban engagement scenarios.
